Wrong Place Wrong Time Becoming a MOVIE with Golden Mile Productions and No Reservations! eBook David P Perlmutter Julie Tucker Elaine Denning

Overall, this is a well written story of adversity and survival. We, in the states have heard the horror stories of life for those who were unfortunate to be arrested in foreign countries for drug smuggling or either unsavory deeds. If you ever watched “Midnight Cowboy,” you know what I’m talking about. Apparently, Mr. Pultmutter lived the true nightmare of being (in this case) unjustly charged with arson and manslaughter, yet correctly charged with theft, in Spain.
The story, in a sense could rival a James Bond movie as Bond runs the full gamut of success, failure, and escape in a relatively short time span. Something like two months. Hey, that’s pretty impressive.
I am not one to question an authors work, but in this case, if David was charged with manslaughter and arson, why would the Spanish government not pursue a fleeing fugitive? I did a few searches for fires in Marabella during the early nineties with no results. Odd. Perhaps the Spanish authorities were a bit embarrassed that a foreigner escaped with such ease.
That aside, the writing style will keep your attention as you attempt to figure out how in the world he is going to get out of his predicament. How would we react to being imprisoned in a foreign country with no money and no way to contact the outside world? Too say the least, that’s a scary premise all on its own. When David sees an opportunity to elude his captors, he chooses the only option available: escape. Should he have stayed and faced the music (as his father suggests) or should he bolt for freedom knowing he could be captured at anytime which will only result in additional charges being levied against him and a possible life sentence? Glad I didn’t have to make that choice.
Unlike many of the other reviews discussing his depths of drunkenness, let us remember, he is in his late twenties and enjoying the fruits of his labors. I know people well into their thirties and forties who were still living that lifestyle. This is an age where we considered ourselves being indestructible and the hangovers are easily discarded the next day. I don’t condemn him for his lifestyle choices at that age. He was after all, having fun.
Overall, a quick entertaining and engaging read.

Wrong Place Wrong Time Becoming a MOVIE with Golden Mile Productions and No Reservations! eBook David P Perlmutter Julie Tucker Elaine Denning Reviews

David tells a story in a fast-paced, easy to read and plunge into, narrative. This is a gritty tale of what one might encounter if living life on the fly, being young and making some perhaps repetitive, mistakes that have life-altering consequences. Things could have been worse, and finally with some luck, maybe, a good decision offers salvation, at least partly.
I had not expected the ending, though. Was hoping he'd end up with Rosa again, or at least meet up with her, perhaps even, later in life.
All said, I found that I did thoroughly enjoy this real-life exploit of a nomad searching for something, not really knowing what, then getting it—really! I found myself reading it late at night (2 am) when I couldn't sleep, and the ending came quickly. A somewhat short, but potent tale. Party on the beach in Spain with beautiful women, broke as hell, and starving almost to death, drugs, hippie traveling tourists, more tourists, partying rich tourists, and an inferno of a rescue that sends the you know what into the fan. Shouldn't have taken those cards! But—choices, choices, choices. This book reminds me of some of the bad choices, and consequences thereof, in my own life. We live and learn, and hopefully, in the end, wise up. 5 stars for a read that kept rolling right along. Descriptive, enjoyable, refreshing, harrowing, and maybe even a damn—why, dude?! But glad ya made it!
‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time’, a true crime book by David P. Perlmutter, relates a first-person account of a litany of bad decisions made by the author immediately before and during a brief stay in Spain in the early nineties. It is a gritty tale, one which reflects attitudes prevalent in southern Spain at the time especially with regard to foreign visitors. The author came up against the local police, mostly ex-foreign legion and mercenary types recruited by the then mayor, Jesus Gil, who acted more as a private army than a professional police force.

Valid criticism of that particular moment in the history of Marbella aside, the tale is clearly focused on how the consequences of actions taken without forethought and a lack of language skills in a foreign country can combine to radically change the fortunes of a visitor in an instant. This story is as valid today, as a moralistic tale, as it was when the events occurred twenty-five years prior. An interesting read.
Wrong Place Wrong Time by David P. Perlmutter, is based on true events and is a fascinating read. How can a real estate agent end up falling on such hard times? Despite his best efforts, life seemed to have a different set of priorities for David. How on earth can one person be subjected to so many things going wrong? Even when David's trying to do what is right, he ends up on the wrong side of the law. I won't go into the events as I don't want to spoil anyone's reading, but you definitely need to grab a copy and settle in for a wild ride. All I could do was nod, shake my head, laugh, and cover my eyes with David's exploits. One thing for sure, Wrong Place Wrong will make you satisfied with whatever good things come your way. Well-written and described and worth a read!
